Tybee Island mayoral candidates square off in political forum

TYBEE ISLAND, GA (WTOC) -

Candidates for Tybee Island's mayoral seat squared off in a forum on Oct. 25. Mayor Pro Tem Shirley Sessions and James Smith are trying to unseat the incumbent Mayor Jason Buelterman. Tybee Islanders know how important this election really is.

"This is a very important election for Tybee Island. The mayor and the top three vote getters will serve four year terms, while the lower three vote getters will be elected two year terms and will be up for re-election in two years. So, it is a very important election," said Kathryn Williams.

Voting will take place on Nov. 8.
