Navy League of Savannah celebrates the Navy's birthday

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Navy League of Savannah celebrated the Navy's birthday at the Pirate House in Savannah Oct. 25. The oldest member, John Innes, and the youngest member, Sea Cadet Rajah Bannister, had the honor of cutting the cake. From there it was time for former Commanding Officer of Coast Guard Air Station Savannah to say a few words.

"I love the Navy League and I especially love the Savannah Navy League. They're very active in the community and they do great things for the Navy, the Coast Guard, and the Marine Corps. I support their mission," said Capt. Conna Cottrell, Commander of the Helicopter Interdiction Squadron Jacksonville.

Cottrell recently took command of Jacksonville's Hitron Unit, which stops drug smugglers from reaching U.S. borders.
