Closing arguments under way in SCAD student murder trial

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The court heard closing arguments from the defense Wednesday morning in the murder trial of a student from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

John Adams and Alex Cowart are accused of killing student Sean Giroir in October 2010.

The defense has rested for Cowart just early Wednesday afternoon. After the break, the attorney for Adams will make his final remarks. Then the prosecution is expected to close.

Testimony ended Tuesday after the prosecution called three more witnesses to the stand.

Then the defense team for Adams and Cowart called their only witness. Skylar Walker testified that Daniel Izzo shot at him in a seperate incident a month before the murder last October.

Izzo testified last week agaisnt Cowart and Adams in exchange for a plea deal.
