Parents give school district input

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Savannah-Chatham School District is asking for input from parents.

Parents and grandparents of students at title one schools filled this room at the Eli Whitney Complex. They spent the morning offering suggestions and even were able to review the districts improvement and parent policy.

"Parents are our students' first teacher, and we went to make sure and partner with them to make sure education is best for all students. We want to take all students needs whether they are gifted or if they have challenges," Sharon Hill, of the Parent Involvement Liaison.

"They are our future and if they don't take care of our children we have no future," said Terry Boone, a parent.

After the meeting, parents were asked to fill out comment cards and give the district suggestions.
