Wilmington Island moms treated like royalty

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The First Baptist Church of the Island's Mothers of Preschoolers, or MOPS, held their annual Pretty, Pretty Princess Spa Day on Wednesday.

Moms from the community were invited to get their hair done, get a massage, a manicure and more. They also had food, door prizes and free childcare.

"Our whole goal here at MOPS is to nurture them and support them, just give them a safe environment where they can learn to be the best moms they can be," said spa day coordinator Christine Lipian. "They're not alone on this mother journey and we're here to help."

The group has been serving mothers on Wilmington Island for 12 years. More than a dozen local businesses donated their time and services to make the spa day a success.
