LONG CO., GA (WTOC) - A man accused of robbing the Country Store on Rye Patch Road has turned himself in, according to the Long County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators say Damon Henry robbed the store at about 10:45 a.m. on Oct. 26.
Deputies told WTOC that a bread delivery man was coming out of the store when Henry put a gun to his stomach, forced him back inside, and ordered him to lie down. He then demanded the clerk give him the money. He grabbed what she emptied out of her cashier drawer and took off in a green Ford pickup truck.
The green Ford pickup was located in the Country Lane mobile home park on Rye Patch Road. As deputies were pulling into the park, Henry fled into the woods.
