SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Tourism Leadership Council hosted an Aldermanic forum over lunch Oct. 27. 19 candidates were invited to the event and 11 attended. Each of the candidates was asked five questions. Some of the questions focused on the location and size of a new arena, the candidate's perspectives on tourism jobs, and their opinions on trucking hazardous materials down Bay Street.
"We are hoping that our membership will get a good taste of the representation that they will have if they choose to put certain individuals in office. We're hoping that they will have a business friendly, tourism perspective on things and understand the importance of our industry, not only in the economic impact but jobs," said Marti Barrow, Savannah Tourism Leadership Council Executive Director.
WTOC's Sonny Dixon moderated the forum.
