A former Chatham County public school teacher and coach has admitted to having a sexual affair with a 14-year-old student and will spend time in prison for his actions. Twenty-nine-year-old Mark Todd was a teacher and the head baseball coach at Johnson High School when he was arrested on April 11 of last year. Yesterday, Todd was sentenced on three counts of enticing a minor for indecent purposes, five charges of child molestation, along with statutory rape and making false statements to police.

He was ordered to serve ten years in prison plus ten years probation. Todd acknowledged the sexual acts occurred from October 2002 until his arrest and took place in his truck, his school office and the victim's home.

Todd resigned from his position at Johnson a week before he turned himself in on the sexual abuse charges.
