B-17 Bombers in town for viewing

POOLER, GA (WTOC) - They fought for our freedoms and now some folks remembering the lives of some World war Two soldiers.

Some B-17 Bombers were in town this weekend commemorating the reunions of the 486th and 487th Bomb Groups at the Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum.

Among those visiting Savannah was the "Yankee Lady," a fully restored B-17 Flying Fortress.

Visitors can take a tour of the planes or even take a flight.

"There are 3 different World War Two Bombers in town giving rides, so we have a lot of B-17 enthusiasts that are coming to the museum and talking with our restoration people so it's pretty exciting," says Jerry McLaughlin.

Flights in the B-17 Bombers will be available on Sunday from noon until sunset at Signature Flight Support at 1001 Davidson Drive off of Dean Forest Road

Walk through tours are $5 for adults, $2 for children and free to active duty Military, Scouts and children under six years old.

Flights in the Bombers are $425 per person.
