The Savannah Economic Development Authority is starting the new year with a new leader. After two years as chairman of SEDA, today Cliff McCurry passed the gavel to Dr. Carlton Brown. Dr. Brown is the president of Savannah State University and says he looks forward to the challenge.
Brown says he hopes to help bring new development to our area, especially to the mega site off I-16 and I-95. "We look forward to, number one, filling that bald spot off I-16 and 95," he said. "But continuing development of this community with larger economic development issues, helping develop a workforce and bringing in larger manufacturers and warehouses, distribution to the area."
Robbie Harrison was appointed vice president of the board and Bryan Foster is now secretary and treasurer.
