SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The budget deficit and high costs of Medicare are continuing to plague the pocketbooks of Americans. On Oct. 31, the Rotary Club of Savannah learned about some ways that may help to fill that gap.
Phil Smith, National Political Director of the Concord Coalition, spoke to the group about the economic challenges the country is facing. The president of the club says the topic of the meeting is something that needed to be addressed.
"Today's issue with health care and the budget deficit, those are things that we're all facing not only here locally but as a country. So, it impacts all of us," said Sam McCachern, Rotary Club of Savannah President.
The club is also raising money for the Woman's Legacy Council as part of the United Way Campaign.
