    In response to police departments around the country creating lip sync videos, the Chatham County Police Department shared a video on Friday of Officers Castro and Solomon performing "Shake It Off" by Nick Kroll and Reese Witherspoon.  Police departments across the United States have posted videos under the hashtag #LipSyncChallenge.  Copyright 2018 WTOC.     Tybee Island residents came together on Saturday for the 6th and final Tybee Prom. This year's theme was Swan Song and the night's colors were silver, black, and white. There was a large crowd for the signature evening of music, dancing, eating and most importantly, raising money for animals. SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A kickoff event will mark the first Rock ‘n' Roll Marathon starts Thursday.

It takes place at 11:30 a.m. at the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center

More than 23,000 runners, from around the U.S. and 20 countries will be in Savannah for the marathon on Nov. 5.  

Events schedule from Visit Savannah:

Thursday – kickoff & expo

11:30 a.m.

  • Media Kickoff
  • Savannah Convention Center
  • 12 to 6 p.m.
  • Health & Fitness Expo
  • Savannah International Trade & Convention Center, Halls A and B
  • Pickup race day media credentials and parking passes. The expo is free and open to the public.

Friday

  • 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Savannah International Trade & Convention Center, Halls A and B
  • More than 100 exhibitors offering the latest running gear, training tips and interactive clinics. Free and open to the public.

Saturday - race day

  • 7:30 a.m. – Marathon & ½ Marathon Start
  • 8:35 a.m. – First participants finish
  • 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.– Finish Line Festival

The race starts at Bay and Bull street and finishes at Forsyth Park. There will be a post-race concert featuring Carolina Liar.     

Thirteen charities, with over 850 runners, will raise nearly $1.2 million through the race.
