SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Two days before the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon and experts say the runners need to have a plan to get to the race early. I know many people, like me, really don't want to hear that. The race begins at 7:30 a.m. Saturday. That is early for us night shift workers. Now, Fleet Feet Sports coach Robert Espinoza say we're going to have to move even earlier.
"I would suggest you get up two hours early which might mean you are going to be up at 3:00 a.m. That's okay you are going to feel a whole lot better if you do then you don't feel rushed. Once you get there, you can take your time."
Once you arrive at your designated starting area, Robert also advises taking the time to get to know those people who will begin the race with you because you all will be spending many hours together. His last tip for today - relax and enjoy the moment!
