Hilton Head player's first touchdown brings tears

The day that Hilton Head Island High School senior Chip Mullen ran 77 yards for a touchdown will be one his teammates and coach will remember for years to come.

Mullen has down syndrome but he isn't letting his developmental disability get the best of him. The teen made the touchdown during an away game at Myrtle Beach High School on Nov. 4.

"Everybody was on their feet. The cheerleaders were crying and it was a great feeling," said Tim Singleton, Hilton Head Island High School head football coach.

Mullen has never missed a practice and says his favorite part of football is tackling other players.

The teen plans to attend Vanderbilt University in Tennessee in the fall to study music.
