Police have put out a nationwide alert for a Brunswick woman and her kidnapper, after a man was murdered at her house. It happened shortly after noon on Sunday at the woman's home on Parkwood Drive. Police say 52 year old Harold Kinlaw went to the house of his ex-wife, 39 year old Damaris Kinlaw, and shot and killed a man. Officers believe he then grabbed Kinlaw and drove off with her in a white Chevy Astro van.
The shooting victim, who's believed to be a federal customs agent, died before he could be rushed to the hospital. His name has not been released yet. Police are now concerned about Damaris' safety. They say her ex-husband has kidnapped her before. He's facing a number of federal and state charges.
"He is armed and apparently dangerous," said Brunswick Police Sergeant Kevin Jones. "We're trying to get information out to the public to help us locate the suspect and the kidnap victim," he added. "Help us find this white Chevy Astro van. Help us locate her and make sure she's okay. That's our primary focus right now--finding her."
Damaris Kinlaw is 5'6" and weighs about 130 pounds. She has a dark complexion and black shoulder-length hair. Harold Kinlaw is 5'8" tall and weighs about 160 pounds. He has salt and pepper hair. Police say he had a beard; however, he may have shaved it off. The two were last seen in a white 1993 or 1994 Chevy Astro van with a black pinstripe.
If you have any information about what happened or where Damaris and Harold Kinlaw are, call Brunswick Police at (912) 267-5599 or 911 immediately.
