Businesses compete in Christmas decorating contest

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - More than 23 businesses in downtown Savannah have decorated their window fronts, desks and halls.

It's part of the Savannah Holly Days contest held each year by the Savannah Development and Renewal Authority.

The winners were announced Tuesday in Johnson Square. Best in Show went to Mason's Inc., an office furniture store on Broughton Street.

"We hand-cut out 800 white doves and strung them from the ceiling to wrap around our desks," said Katherine Callan of Masons Inc.

"We want to do everything we can to make savannah a great destination for people to come down and shop, eat and spend time. so this is just another thing as we get into the holiday season and people have so many different choices of places they can go," said Paul Fetheringill of SDRA.

Judges this year included representatives from City Market, the city of Savannah Leisure Services, MLK-Montgomery Business Association and the SDRA.
