SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

WTOC's Sonny Dixon stopped by the Coastal Empire Montessori Charter School Dec. 6 to read to some wonderfully bright eyed students. The school is wrapping up a book fair, highlighting the fun and great benefit that comes from reading and writing.

"We do have some students that are writing. In fact, one of our kindergartners won a poetry contest recently and got an award. We were really excited to see some writers developing from these great books that we are sharing," said Christina Placek, head of school.

Sonny shared a couple of books in two different sessions, one with the younger students and  one with some older children up to third grade.
