RIDGELAND, SC (WTOC) - A Ridgeland man was arrested on attempted murder charges in connection with a shooting Wednesday night in Bluffton.
Bluffton police were called at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday to Hilton Head Hospital on a report of a 29-year-old man who was shot in the right hand.
The man was sitting in the driver seat of a parked vehicle at Hallmark White Oak Apartments at 102 Haigler Boulevard, when Kenneth Anderson, 19, went up to the vehicle from the passenger side, pulled out a handgun and fired a shot at the victim, according to Bluffton police.
Witnesses and the victim later identified Anderson as the shooter, according to police.
Anderson was tracked down to 59 Ridgeland Lakes Dr. in Ridgeland, where he ran from authorities. Jasper County Sheriff's Office K-9 team assisted with locating the suspect after a two hour search.
Kenneth Anderson was arrested on attempted murder charges was taken to the Jasper County Detention Center. He's being held at Jasper County Sheriff's Office on other criminal charges that aren't related to charges from Bluffton police.
