Four men arrested in Long Co. double murder case

LONG CO., GA (WTOC) -

A shocking crime with even more shocking arrests.

The Long County Sheriffs Office confirmed Sunday that four men, all soldiers assigned to Fort Stewart were arrested in connection with a double murder in Long County.

A fisherman found the couple, Tiffany York and Michael Roark, dead Tuesday morning near Morgan Lake Road in rural Long County.

Detective Nickey Anderson said the soldiers were taken into custody Saturday night and booked into the Liberty County Jail.

No word on the charges they are facing, or how they knew the couple. The men will have their first court appearance on Monday.

Fort Stewart confirmed the men were assigned to the military post but would only say they are assisting in the investigation.

Meanwhile, funeral arrangements are being made for Tiffany York and Michael Roark.

Memorial services for Michael will be held this Saturday, December 17th at 1:00 pm.

He will be buried in his hometown of Shoreline, Washington, with full military honors.

The family of Tiffany York will hold a memorial service at the Westside Baptist Church in Hinesville, also on Saturday, December 17th at 2:30pm.

There is also a memorial fund in Tiffany's name. You can donate at any Heritage Bank.
