Memorial Remembers Brown

Emotions ran high at Savannah High School last night as family and friends came together to remember a former student and radio personality. Last weekend, a van hit and killed 21-year-old Brandon Brown while he was walking to Battery Point along President Street. Last night, his former high school held a visual memorial, including slides and pictures.

Friends and family also told stories about the memories they shared with Brown. His coworkers from WEAS radio say, even in death, Brown continues to make them laugh and smile.

"He had keys missing from our van--for like a month--and his brother just found them in his room," said coworker April Dobbs. "It just goes to show he's not gone, he's really still right here."

Brandon Brown's funeral is 1pm Saturday at St. Philip Monumental AME church on Park Avenue and Jefferson Street.
