SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A 25-year-old Savannah man turned himself in after being contacted by police Wednesday, according to Savannah-Chatham Metro Police.

Jonathan Anthony Williams has been charged with aggravated assault, armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

He is charged in the Nov. 15 robbery in the 300 block of Lewis Drive. Police said a gunman walked into the dice game at an apartment, demanded all the money and shot Jeffery Sams, then 18, of the 10,000 block of Edgmont Road. He was transported to Memorial University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Williams turned himself in to the Chatham County Detention Center Wednesday after SCMPD detectives called his cell phone and told him of the charges, according to police.
