BLUFFTON, SC (WTOC) - A man accused in a stolen computer probe faces more charges.

Bluffton police said Friday that Alexander Staple, 33, of Hilton Head Island, has also been charged with second-degree burglary.

Staple is in the Beaufort County Detention Center on charges of receiving stolen property. The charges stem from a Joint Burglary Task Force Investigation between the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office and Bluffton police.

The additional charges are the result of DNA matches from evidence recovered in the Nov. 2 burglary of the Attractive Hair Studio at 4490 Crescent Office Park in Bluffton.

"This arrest would not have been possible without the outstanding work of the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Forensics Laboratory," said Chief David McAllister in a statement. "Between the work of the detectives in the Task Force and additional work by the DNA lab I expect additional suspects will be identified."

Those with information are called Sgt. Joe Babkiewicz at 843.706.4550 or the Beaufort County Dispatch at 843.757.3499.
