SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

In the spirit of giving, a local church is treating those in need with a holiday feast.

Savannah Baptist Center served dinner to the needy and homeless on Monday. Guests were served a menu filled with traditional Christmas dinner favorites. The food was provided a local Sunday school class and cooked by a local chef.

Organizers say spreading Christmas spirit to all is what makes putting on the dinner so rewarding.

"We decided some time ago that we would try to reach out to the community because we have so many homeless in this area, but it's not just for the homeless. It's for any of the families in this area to be able to come and serve them a hot meal," said Pearline Burns, director of Baptist Center in Savannah.

Each person also received a gift.
