BEAUFORT CO., SC (WTOC) -

Over the past few months, several businesses in Bluffton and the surrounding area have been burglarized. But investigators are making headway.

Bluffton police and the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office have formed a joint burglary task force. They said that they're making progress in tracking down some of the burglars.

Alexander Staple, 33, is now facing burglary and petty theft charges after police said his DNA matched evidence found at the scene of a burglary in early November at the Attractive Hair Studio.

Staple was already in the Beaufort County Detention Center for receiving stolen goods after the task conducted an undercover operation - where police recovered two stolen computers - from two different businesses

"As a result of the task force, they were able to buy some of the stolen property from Staple and Mr. Stapleton. During the course, they were able to get their DNA and match it up with some of the clothing we found at one of the burglaries," Sgt. Joe Babkiewicz.

Investigators are also now looking for Megan Zilko and Jonathan Shipes in connection with a burglary at the Ultimate Car Wash on Plantation Park Drive. They are believed to be in the Hardeeville area driving a dark green Nissan king cab XE.
