2 men sought in Okatie store robbery

OKATIE, SC (WTOC) - The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is investigating a strong arm robbery that happened Monday night at an Okatie convenience store.

Just after 8:30 p.m. Monday, deputies responded to the Callawassie General Store on a robbery report.

The 55-year-old store clerk told deputies that store had been robbed by two men.

The men walked in, pushed her to the register and took an undisclosed amount of cash, according to the sheriff's office. They also stole several cases of beer and cartons of cigarettes before leaving the store.

The clerk was unharmed and no customers were in the store at the time of the robbery.

Both suspects are described as black males who are about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weigh 160 lbs. One suspect was wearing a black hat, black scarf, blue jeans shorts and gloves. The other was wearing a blue and gray long sleeve shirt and dark jeans. Their faces were covered with rags or scarves.
