SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Georgia's Secretary of State Brian Kemp stopped at the Georgia Ports Authority on Tuesday afternoon to lend his support.
"The deepening has been a huge issue not only for this area but for the whole state. I went to 11 of the 12 regional meetings on the governor's competitiveness initiative. Certainly, I think the port is one of those things," Kemp said.
Kemp added that he wanted to spend time speaking with the workers at the port to get their take on the port's progress. He was also able to take a boat ride and get a perspective of the port from the water.
