    The City of Savannah has received the results of the survey regarding the Confederate Memorial standing in Forsyth Park. Citizens were able to comment on the city council's decision to potentially re-purpose the monument, a decision that came shortly after one woman was killed in protests surrounding a statue of Robert E. Lee in Charlottesville.

    The two passengers of the white sedan, an adult male and a small child, were airlifted to a trauma hospital in Savannah. Officials on scene confirmed that the child was not restrained in a car seat, and was not wearing a seatbelt.

BEAUFORT, SC (WTOC) -

 

The Historic Beaufort Foundation is hosting its annual oyster at 6 p.m. Jan. 13 at the Marshlands at 501 Pinckney St. 

Attendees will enjoy oysters, gumbo, hamburgers and hotdogs catered by Plums, and an open bar by Reeves Outdoor Catering. Blues music will be performed by Kirk Dempsey and the Sidestreet Walkers. Craft beers will be provided by Bear Island Distributors

Ticket prices are lower this year. It's $45 per person and $35 for those 35 and younger. Tickets will not be sold at the door and must be purchased by Jan. 6. 

Tickets may be ordered and charged to a credit card by calling the foundation's office at 843.379.3331. Checks can be mailed to P.O. Box 11, Beaufort, SC 29901. The office is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. It's closed from Dec. 23 to Jan. 2.
