Rules

Measurements - Using a tape measure, measure the circumference of your waist, hips, right arm and right leg.

To measure your waist circumference, place a tape measure around your bare abdomen just above your hip bone. Be sure that the tape is snug, but does not compress your skin, and is parallel to the floor. Relax, exhale, and measure your waist.

Contest participants must submit progress photos and measurements the final week of the  contest to fitclub@wtoc.com.

The winner is determined based on who has the biggest overall body composition changes based on measurements and percent body fat.

How do you win?

The person with the most overall change in inches and body fat percent will be given fitness swag from Fleet Feet sports and featured on the Fit Club, which airs every Tuesday. This is a fitness challenge! Fit Club wants to inspire and motivate you to make healthy lifelong changes that will enhance your health and life. It's not a weight loss contest, although being lighter on your feet is certainly a benefit.

The winner will be announced Feb. 7 on Fit Club on the News at Daybreak.

What is percent body fat?

Percent body fat tells you what percentage of your weight is comprised of lean mass (muscles, tissue, organs, bone, etc.) and the percentage that is fat mass. This is a much more accurate way to tell your overall health rather than using weight. Remember, muscle weighs more than fat.

This program incorporates both cardio and weight lifting, which may cause you to gain weight as you turn fat into muscle. If you are losing fat and gaining muscle mass, the number on the scale may not be changing, but you are changing your body composition while getting fit!
