EFFINGHAM CO., GA (WTOC) - A man accused of breaking into an Effignham County credit union has been denied bond.
Timothy Meyers, 44, of Savannah, went before a magistrate judge in Effingham County.
Deputies said Meyers damaged most of the interior of the Geovista Credit Union on Columbia Avenue Christmas Night, including the vaults, when he broke in.
When officers got there, Meyers was inside, but then ran away.
The manhunt was a joint effort between Rincon police, Effingham County deputies and Georgia State Patrol lead to his arrest near Wisenbaker Road.
Authorities said that Meyers' truck was later recovered and several tools that are commonly used for break-ins were found inside.
He is being held in the Effingham County Jail.
