German G-8 Delegation Visits Savannah

Plenty of other people are sizing up the Low Country and Coastal Empire. It's just the first wave of a huge crowd coming this spring. The G-8 international summit is on Sea Island in June. Today, nine German delegates were here, just one of the national groups preparing for their roles in the summit.

Delegation spokesman Oliver Schramm said his group is "amazed at what the G-8 liaison office has taken this to and the facilities that are set up already right here and the level of preparation. We're pleased with what we've seen so far."

They toured Savannah and received a key to the city. British, Russian and French delegations were here last week, with Italian and Japanese groups coming in the next few. We'll keep you informed of everything leading up to and through the summit.
