Man fatally shot in front of barber shop

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A Savannah man was shot and killed late Monday morning on Ash Street between 36th and 37th streets.

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police said Larry Giles, 24, standing in front of a barber shop at about 11:35 a.m. on Ash Street between 36th and 37th streets when a man walked up and fired several shots at him.

Giles was taken to Memorial University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Police are going through reports of a car seen leaving the area around the time of the shooting to determine clear description of it, according to SCMPD.

Patrol, violent crimes detectives and forensics officers are collecting evidence. The investigation continues.
