Two men arrested in Bluffton shooting

Two men have been arrested in connection with a shooting in Bluffton.

Bluffton police were called at about 3:30 p.m. Jan. 10 to the Nicklepumpers Gas Station in Bluffton at 2 Bruin Rd. on a report of a shooting.

Sean Kirby was shot under the right armpit while he was parked at Hallmark White Oak Apartments on Haigler Boulevard, according to police.  

Kirby drove to 2 Bruin Road where he called 911. He was taken to Memorial University Medical Center.  

Bluffton police said Dontae Collins and Daquan Aiken were involved in the shooting.

Varnville police located Collins at his relative's house at 20 Oak St. in Varnville, according to Bluffton police. He was taken into custody and was later taken to the Beaufort County Detention Center, where he is being held on a $200,000 bond.

Bluffton police located Daquan Aiken at 142 Simmonsville Rd. in Bluffton. He was taken into custody and was later taken to the Beaufort County Detention Center, where he is awaiting a bond hearing.

Bluffton police executed a search warrant at the Simmonsville Road home and evidence was recovered, according to police. The gun that was used has not been found.
