Dancing through the decades to benefit Black Heritage Festival

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The bus stop, the hand jive, or the moonwalk? What's your favorite dance from the past?

Well, they were all on display Friday night.

The first ever dancing through the decades was held at the Savannah Marriott Riverfront, but it's not just dances coming back, its the outfits too!

The best part was all the money raised benefits the Savannah Black Heritage Festival.

Dance organizer, Shirley James says, "you know, with the economy as it is, we're just trying to do what we can to supplement it because the festival is entering it's twenty-third year this year, and we are growing! We're having many more activities and events and performances that we are offering to the public. We want to make sure that we can keep doing that."

The Savannah Black Heritage Festival kicks off on February 1st. For a complete list of things you can enjoy click here.
