HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (WTOC) -
If a bottle of wine could talk, what would it say? That was the challenge put before folks attending the Uncork the Festival event Jan. 27 at Bamboras Grille on Hilton Head Island. The wine tasting kicks off the Wine and Food Festival which culminates in early March. Each guest brought a bottle of wine with them that had a story to tell.
"I was up in Cincinnati with a bunch of guys and I got a little over served. The next day I found out that I'd bought a barrel of wine. As it turned out, it was 8 cases of wine, so I'm still drinking it," said Rocky Whitehead, Bambora's Grille.
"This event is really a great event. It showcases the culinary diversity of the island. It brings a lot of visitors to the island and it shows them that, yes we do have beautiful beaches, we have a lot of tennis and golf, but we also have fine dining, fine wine and fine people," said Tami Bream, Hilton Head Wine and Food Fest.
The public tasting on March 10 at Honey Horn will be hosted by WTOC's John Wetherbee.
