Man fatally shot identified

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Savannah-Chatham Metro Police are looking for a man seen running from a shooting on Wednesday.

Several witnesses were at the scene where man was shot to death Wednesday night, according to police.

Police were called at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday to the 600 block of west 41st Street on a report of a shooting. William Brown III, 32, was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Brown was taken to Memorial University Medical Center where he died.

The man seen running from the scene is described as a young adult black male who was wearing a baggy black shirt and tan pants. He ranged from 5 foot 7 to 5 foot 9 inches tall.

Detectives know there are witnesses to this crime and are asking for the public's assistance. They believe robbery may have been the motive.
