SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
Local area highschools were at Armstrong Atlantic State University on Saturday to compete in various ROTC drills.
The highschools joined together with Armstrong's ROTC program to work on their drills which included a color guard and an unarmed arm drill.
Senior officers say that events like these give the junior officers a chance to learn from those that have gone before of them. Elijah Walden Jr. says, "what they're learning is, it instills discipline because the drilling ceremony has rules that you have to follow. It's competitive and positive at the same time."
Each school was judged on their performance, both individually and as a group.
