SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Sad news out of Chatham County Sunday night; Judge Larry Dillon has passed away.

Friends of Judge Dillon tell WTOC he was battling cancer.

Dillon was the Chief Judge of the Chatham County Recorders Court for many years.

He presided over several high profile cases, including the murder trial of Miss Savannah.

Judge Dillon leaves behind his wife and daughter.
