Sabrina Drammis of Hilton Head High is the WTOC Girls Player of the Week. Last week she scored 40 points in 2 games including 26 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals in a victory at Lake Marion Friday night. She was happy with her performance in an important Region AAA-7 game.

"Lake Marion got off to a quick two buckets in their first possession," said Drammis. "It was a good play, so were a little like nervous at first but we got it together, settled down and from there on took charge of the game and played how we play here at Hilton Head."

Coach David Greenberg admires his young player, "There are several things that make her a really good player even though she's been playing only a few years. One is that she is so athletic that she can create her own shot and that's really important the way the game is played now. Everyone plays defense very intensely. Sometimes you need kids that make plays and she can do that."

The Lady Seahawks lost their point guard and leading scorer from last season so Drammis had to step up her game this season. "The rest of the team has helped me get looks, my shot's been falling, especially during region play more than early in the season," said Drammis. "It's good that we can still win our region after so many perceived that we wouldn't be as strong this year as last year."

Drammis feels the team is playing well as they near the end of the season. "We're definitely playing well, we're playing well together. It's a good time, it's a lot of fun when you're winning, especially."

Coach Greenberg, who has coached professional players in the past, says Sabrina is an unusual player. "This is the first time I've had a kid, on a good team, that leads us in every category. I've never had that. Usually kids have different roles and we have that this year. Sabrina's exception enough that she leads us in scoring, assists, rebounds, steals, blocked shots. I mean, that's so unusual."
