Jay WrightJay Wright of Effingham County is the WTOC Boys Player of the Week. He had 44 points in 3 games, but scoring isn't his main job. He dishes out assists and makes steals on defense to help the rebels to the top of region 2-AAAA.
He enjoys his role of setting up the other players, especially sophomore Jakeenan Gant. "Most likely it's more fun for me to set him up because I know he can catch any pass he can go for and he's just a good player," said Wright. "I like playing with him."
Coach Donnie Arrington added, "If Jay has a big night or a big week and maybe somebody else this week. That's kind of the way they operated and he's been very unselfish and team oriented as all our kids have been all this year."
