A dense fog advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. Wednesday.
The advisory has been issued for these counties in the WTOC viewing area: Chatham, Bryan, Effingham, Liberty, Long, McIntosh in Georgia. It also includes these South Carolina counties: Jasper and Beaufort.
Areas of dense fog will impact areas between Beaufort, Savannah, Hinesville and Darien and as far inland as Springfield, Hardeeville and Ludowici.
A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile.
Poor visibilities will create hazardous driving conditions. Navigation in the Savannah harbor may also be hampered.
The National Weather Services recommends slowing down while driving and using your low-beam headlights and leaving plenty of distance ahead between other vehicles in case of a sudden stop.
