We have an update on the condition of a Coastal Empire baby who received a multiple-organ transplant on Friday. Nineteen-month-old Mason Morgan is said to be doing well in recovery.
Mason was born with short bowel syndrome, a condition that left him missing 90-percent of his bowels. He received a new bowel, liver, pancreas, stomach, colon and spleen at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. According to his family, nurses say his recovery is going very well, but he'll remain in intensive care in Miami for at least four months.
If you would like to help the family, they've set up an account in Mason's name at Bank of America, 2153 E. Victory Drive in Savannah.
