SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Habitat Savannah, volunteers, homeowners and community members will be dedicating its 114th home at 1 p.m. Saturday at 113 Burke Ave. in Woodville-Tompkins off of Bay Street.

Aretha Williams and her son will be receiving the keys. Williams recently purchased the home that was built with the help of more than 400 Savannah volunteers.

The property purchase was funded by the federal Neighborhood Stabilization Program through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, according to Habitat Savannah. The city of Savannah and the Savannah/Chatham County Land Bank Authority facilitated the conversion of the abandoned property so it could be used as the site of the home. The construction was partially funded by a grant from Publix Supermarket Charities.

Williams is a single 30-year-old mother raising a 12-year-old son, according to Habitat Savannah. She works at Memorial University Medical Center as a room care attendant.

The Trinidad native plans to bring her mother to the U.S. to live with her and her son in the new home.
