SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A woman is arrested and another man is wanted in connection with the theft of two Motorola Xoom tablet devices.

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police were called on Jan. 19 to the Verizon Wireless store at the Savannah Mall on a theft report. A store employee told police that two Motorola Xoom tablets worth more than $600 each were stolen at the Verizon Store at 7805 Abercorn St.

The worker at the Verizon store at the Savannah Mall had seen two tablets matching the description of the stolen ones at the Boost Mobile store, according to police.

The store owner at Boost Mobile said the tablets were bought from a man named Kevin Roach who had a woman with him at the time of the purchase, according to police. Roach and the woman told Boost Mobile employees they had received the tablets for Christmas, according to police. At the time of the purchase, the tablets had not been reported stolen.

The Verizion store showed no signed of a break-in. The store manager reviewed surveillance video from the day the tablets were discovered missing. The video showed store employee Christina Deal pick up one of the Xoom boxes, go just out of camera view and then bring it back to the same location, and do it again with another tablet box, according to police.

Deal was arrested Feb. 3 and released on bail. Her second hearing was scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday.

Kevin Roach, 22, remains wanted by police. He is described as a white male with brown hair and blue eyes. He is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 150 lbs.
