Emanuel Co. husband faces murder charges

EMANUEL CO., GA (WTOC) -

An Emanuel County man accused in the fatal shooting of his wife is in custody.

George Kirkland, 46, faces murder charges. Emanuel County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to a home on Ebenzer Church Road at about 8 p.m. Sunday and found Sherry Krikland, 49, dead from gunshot wounds.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating the case, but said it appears to be a domestic dispute.

Kirkland remains in the Emanuel County Sheriff's Detention Center without bond.
