HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (WTOC) -

The sixth annual Cooks & Books on Hilton Head Island drew large crowds on Sunday.

More than 1,000 people enjoyed a varied and sumptuous taste of Hilton Head Island and then visited with Lowcountry authors who signed books.

The featured event was the chef's competition. Four chefs each competed in two 30-minute preliminary rounds. Winners of each meeting went into a championship cook-off.

Keith Josefak of old Fort Pub won the event. Lowry Group Chef Yuri Gow of Antionio's, came in second. WTOC's Sonny Dixon served as emcee.

The group promotes adult literacy through Literacy Volunteers of the Lowcountry.
