RINCON, GA (WTOC) -

A community is coming together in the face of tragedy. Vernon Warner, 39, died early Saturday morning when his house erupted in flames off Green Drive in Rincon. Deputies were able to pull his pregnant wife, Audrey, away to safety. She remains at the Augusta Burn Center. Three children ages 12, 10 and 2 managed to escape without being harmed. The family lost just about everything. Now, places like La Dee Da Children's Boutique are stepping up and taking donations during this trying time.

"Someone asked us to please take donations because we have a children's store, and children is what we do. So, we decided to help the family. The community has been overwhelming. The response has been fantastic," said Julie Lanham, La Dee Da Children's Boutique owner.

They need clothing, school uniforms, and gift cards to start rebuilding. They are also taking donations at First Effingham Bank.
