Nearly a week after Georgia residents went to the polls to vote on their choice for state flag, Gov. Sonny Perdue is speaking out. He says it's time for Georgia to move on. "While this may never be over for some people, most people in Georgia want to move on to other things like educating our children, ethics in the government, and child protection," he said.
Perdue hopes to deal with all of those issues and redistricting during the remainder of the legislative session. There are only 11 days left, and so far, Perdue hasn't been able to claim a single legislative victory.
