Three students are getting a ride they will not forget. Laura Alexander, Hunter Van Doren and Ashlyn Deshant all received scooters Tuesday from the Blood Alliance. The scooter giveaway is part of an ongoing incentive to increase awareness and to get more people to donate blood. Savannah College of Art and Design winner Ashlyn Deshant says she never won anything like this before.
"It is really cool. I have never won anything in my life before. That's a pretty good score I think. I donate blood often, so it is kind of unexpected and a nice surprise," said Deshant.
The Blood Alliance provides blood to more than 40 hospitals and medical facilities in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.
