SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
The City of Savannah and the
United Way teamed up with the Lady Bamford Center Tuesday to unveil a new classroom that will allow the center to add 20 more children to their program.
The center opened back in 2007 to
provide education and social skills to children up to five years old. The Lady
Bamford Center was named after the wife of the owner of JCB Construction
Equipment and she says giving back to Savannah is important.
"We like to give back to a
community in whichever we are successful in business in. It is very important,"
said Lady Bamford.
"JCB supports it in terms of
fundraising through our employees and various different events, raising money
for different operations in school and of course for this recent addition that
we are dedicating today," said John Patterson, JCB Chairman and CEO.
The Lady Bamford Center is also a
national accredited center, joining just eight percent of childhood centers
nationwide to receive the honor.
