Woman Arrested for Trying to Pass Fake $1 Million Bill

(Covington-AP) A woman was caught trying to use a fake one million dollar bill to buy about 17-hundred dolllars worth of merchandise at a Covington Wal-Mart.

Police say she was later found with two more of the bills in her purse.

The United States Treasury does NOT make one million dollar bills, but police say people can buy souvenirs of such a bill at some stores.

A clerk at the store immediately noticed the bill was fake when 35-year-old Alice Regina Pike of Porterdale handed it to her on Friday.

Pike then tried to use two gift cards with only two dollars and 32 cents of value on them to buy the merchandise. But when that didn't work, she again asked if the clerk could cash the one million dollar bill. The store then called police.

Pike was charged with forgery.
